Today, rumors became facts as the NSAC confirmed that Nick Diaz did test positive for marijuana at UFC 143. This is the second time that Diaz has tested positive for weed in Nevada. The last time was Feb. 24, 2007, when Diaz defeated Takanori Gomi at a PRIDE Fighting Championship event held at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas [...]

Thought it was interesting when I saw this poll on the UFC.com website, asking fans who they thought won the UFC 143 Main Event. At the time it was 47% “Condit won,” 47% “Diaz won,” and “too close to judge” had 6%. It made me wonder if we could see a Diaz vs. Condit 2 [...]

After rumors persisted about Chicago native and WWE superstar CM Punk walking down to the Octagon with Chael Sonnen at UFC on FOX 2 this Saturday night, it made me wonder if the UFC and WWE can work together and crossover. When talking to MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani, Chael Sonnen made an interesting point about [...]

Earlier in the week The Ultimate Fighting Championship publicly supported the SOPA Bill which was probably one of the worst pieces of legislation in the twenty first century. I don’t think the UFC realized that there would be so much backlash. A part of me wants to believe that Lorenzo Fertitta and the UFC threw [...]

Going into UFC 142 there are many storylines, but there is one story being told that many people may not know about because the narrative is hidden on the first fight on the preliminary card.
Antonio Carvalho (13-4) is from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario but makes his home in Ajax. Ontario. He holds black belts in Jiu-Jitsu and Shotokan Karate and has a green belt in Judo. Not too shabby. That pretty much means he has a license to kick ass. This Canadian has been in the fight game since 2002 with a few of those years living and training in Japan while fighting for the Shooto promotion where it was baptism by fire.

I’ll be on a team and competing at the Vancouver/Whistler Tough Mudder event on June 23rd and 24th. Me and Jeremy Brand (the head honcho of this site and good friend) are in the process of gathering a few “Merry Men and Women” to form a MMASucka Team. You can go to the Tough Mudder website and see if they are coming to your town. They will be touring major cities throughout North America. Get involved and form a team. It will be a great experience. It’s not for everyone, but it sure beats killing yourself in a boring marathon. For me, I need another slap in the face of motivation. For the last few months I have fallen back into old habits [...]

Why read other UFC predictions when you can you have a nice laugh in reading mine. At UFC 141 I went (3-2). Meh. I’ll throw out an old sports cliché, “the bounces aren’t going our way.” To be honest I don’t know too many people who were expecting Mark Hominick to lose the way he did and I think most of us can agree that Claude Patrick deserved a better fate against Ebersole. But we won’t cry over spilt milk, instead we will raise our glasses for another edition of MMASucka.com’s Half-Cut Picks for UFC 141.

To be honest, my focus at the time was on the Olympics. I didn’t have any Internet or knew much about anything “mixed martial arts” until I graduated from college. I was 24 years old before I even started training in boxing, jiu-jitsu, or anything. After my last wrestling match where I lost, I was at a crossroads in my life. I had a manager ask me if I wanted to fight for a living, so I prayed about it, and decided why not. I went to Vegas to train and fell in love.

It’s another edition of Half-Cut picks where I make stupid choices. I never claimed to be able to read the future, but I will tell you that the fights tonight are going to be awesome. At UFC 139 I went a miserable (2-3). Maybe it was good that I had a few weeks to stew on it before UFC 140 in Toronto, Ontario. It was probably expected since I went (4-1) at UFC on FOX. Nonetheless we will rebound with a solid Half-Cut Picks for this upcoming card.

“The guy is absolutely delusional. The guy is ridiculous, absolutely retarded. If you look at the guys I have fought, that completely contradicts what he has said. I have fought top guys in Matt Hamill, Rashad Evans, Dan Henderson, Denis Kang, Wanderlei Silva, Dan Miller, Yoshihiro Akiyama, Chris Leben; yeah those are all easy guys anyone could walk through. Mayhem who claims to be a knowledgeable MMA guy doesn’t know his ass from his elbow.”
