Fivestar Fight League has announced a trio of fights for its August 9th show in Penticton, BC. Two Light heavyweights and two pairs of 185 lbs. fighters will go to war on the shores of Skaha Lake at Fivestar Fight League 8: Barefoot Beach Battle.
In the main event, UFC veteran Kalib Starnes (14-8) replaces Nick Hinchcliffe in a bout with Kelowna’s Clay Davidson (7-4) at 205 lbs. Starnes has really turned his fortunes around, winning two fights so far this year. Will he be able to continue his streak, or will Davidson get a win over a former UFC competitor on his resume?
In the next middleweight clash, Edmonton, AB’s Jason “Flash” Gorny (5-10) will be looking to end his two fight losing streak against Vancouver Island’s Duncan Wilson (4-3). Wilson is on a streak of his own, tapping out his last two opponents. Will Wilson be able continue on with another victory, or will Gorny be able to return to winning form?
Finally, Jeff Porter (2-1) of the Hayabusa Training Centre will square off with Ryan “Ryno” Ballingall (4-6) of Impact MMA Nanaimo. Porter’s two victories are by submission, while all of Ballingall’s losses have been by tap-out. Will “Ryno” be able to escape Porter’s clutches, or will the Albertan add another submission win to his record?
Five Star Fight League 8: Barefoot Beach Battle, presented by Sun FM, goes down on August 9th from the Barefoot Beach Resort on Skaha Lake in Penticton, BC. The main event will be the aforementioned Starnes-Davidson fight. Stay tuned to MMASucka.com for more on this and other upcoming events.
