UFC on FX 3 draws two new bouts

Fairfax, Virginia lucked out with fight announcements today, their UFC on FX 3 event that will take place from the Patriot Center score two interesting match-ups.

UFC Tonight reported that a lightweight tilt between former WEC champion Donald Cerrone and 14-year veteran Yves Edwards which will likely be a featured attraction on this televised event.

Both men are looking to return to their winning ways, Cerrone was on the cusp of being a title challenger before Nate Diaz stopped him in his tracks last December and Edwards has lost two of his last three bouts, most recently dropping a decision to ‘Ultimate Fighter’ champ Tony Ferguson.

Additionally, Thiago Silva was preparing to rematch Brandon Vera, who he exiled from the Zuffa umbrella last year but the injury bug has struck again forcing the Lloyd Irwin trained fighter to step aside.

Taking his place will be Croatian kickboxer Igor Pokrajac who is on a two-fight winning streak.

Silva has not been seen in the octagon since his failed drug test in January of 2011, now after serving his time he needs to impress the higher-ups in the company to keep his spot in the company safe.

UFC on FX 3 takes place on May 15, keep it locked to MMASucka.com as the rst of the card develops.
