I love Christmas time, not just because it is a great time to train but because snowboarding season is in full swing and school is on the back-burner for the time being.
For the first time in a long time, I have had a five day break from training filled with snowboarding, family and friends. The break has been nice but I am itching to get into the gym and get back to work.
I am excited to start 2013 off on the right foot. I have hooked up with a strength and conditioning coach in Courtenay, B.C. who is going to be a huge asset in the new year. I am planning a low key New Years as my girlfriend and I have bought a house 20 minutes outside of Courtenay, making training in both Courtenay and Campbell River easier than ever.
I’m looking forward to a good day training on Boxing Day at WCBJJ affiliate, Pure Martial Arts and Fitness with Oren Hanscomb, WCBJJ stud Shawn Albrecht, and well kept secret Spence Shaw who hopefully will be competing again soon, as well as a bunch of other island talents.
This is a great opportunity to say Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of my friend in the MMA community. I appreciate so many of the people I meet through this sport and wish I could train with all of my friends across B.C. on a more consistent basis.
Happy Holidays to everyone and wishing you all a good 2013.
