Born and raised in Peterborough, Ontario where he took up the local practices of hockey and binge drinking. He was introduced to UFC in the mid 90′s, but then lost track of the sport after it was deemed “too extreme for TV” by politicians. Fortunately, the build-up to the initial Ken Shamrock-Tito Ortiz fight drew him back in and he has been hooked ever since. He has trained in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Vancouverites may remember him from his MMA radio show “In the Cage with Bards” on CITR or seen him wandering through the background of some of their favourite movies and TV shows.
