Dustin Poirier is once again giving back to his community of Lafayette, LA.

The top-3 lightweight is auctioning off the fight kit he wore during his UFC on FOX 30 victory over Eddie Alvarez on Saturday. The kit includes Poirier’s gloves, fight shorts, shirt, pants, hand-wraps, hoodie and locker room credentials.

Poirier will put 100 percent of the proceeds towards his charity, The Good Fight Foundation, and its current goal. The team intends to help students from Poirier’s old school, Acadian Middle School, by supplying them with 500 backpacks filled with a year’s worth of supplies, according to their website. The foundation also plans to sponsor a teacher by updating their classroom with school supplies and new computers.

The link to Poirier’s fight kit can be found here. As of Monday, July 30, there are seven days remaining in the bidding process. The current highest bid is $2,950, but that’s subject to quickly change.

For those who can’t afford to bid on the fight kit, Poirier’s charity accepts any and all donations on their website. The Good Fight Foundation was founded by Poirier and his wife, Jolie.

The foundation has already aided the Second Harvest Food Bank of Lafayette, LA, and raised money for a fallen police officer’s family. Aiding his old middle school is the next project in line for “The Diamond.”

Poirier vs. Alvarez II

Poirier and Alvarez squared off in a rematch at Calgary. After back-and-forth action over the first two rounds that included tight submission attempts and hard strikes landed, Poirier stunned Alvarez. Once he had him against the fence, Poirier unleashed a varied barrage of strikes on his opponent until Alvarez fell. The TKO win marked Poirier’s fifth fight unbeaten in a row (including his controversial no contest with Alvarez).

Regardless of how the situation with Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor shakes out, Poirier is deservedly on the short-list of title contenders at lightweight.
